Howard is adept at
working with all levels of the construction team - contractor, distributor,
designer and owner - through all phases of a project. He has the ability to
understand the complexities and capabilities of a building product and
effectively apply the product’s attributes to the architect’s project
requirements. Enthusiastic, technically competent and imaginative, which
describes Howard’s approach to challenges, also describes the underpinnings
of his success as a manufacturer’s representative.
Howard is a people
person, engaging others with the right blend of gravity, humor and
intellect, intuitively building both projects and relationships along the
way. Comfortable with the wearing of many hats, he is as comfortable in a
coat and tie, as he is in work boots; speaking to one or one hundred -
articulate and genuine.
Howard was a founding
board member of the Decorative Concrete Council (DCC) and has had
affiliations with the National Ready Mix Concrete Association (NRMCA),
various state ready mix associations, the Construction Specification
Institute (CSI), the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA),
American institute of Architects (AIA) and the American Concrete
Institute (ACI). Howard is an ACI certified Concrete Technician.
Howard is also
certified by the CSI as a Construction Documents Technologist (CDT), which
requires tested competency of the writing and management of construction
documents. He belongs to the CSI Chicago Chapter and chairs the chapter’s
Industry Round Table that provides professional development seminars for
manufacturer and professional members. Howard annually conducts a class on
the development of AIA compliant continuing education programs for
architects.
