Product representatives are
important participants throughout the design and construction process. A
product representative interacts with the owners, designers, contractors and
suppliers, ensuring the timely dissemination of information during
Design Development, Construction Documentation and Construction stages
of project delivery.
Howard works closely with the
design team offering products that match the project owner’s design
criteria for function, aesthetics, health and safety, and
sustainability. Within those parameters, he will offer a range of
options that meet the budget, stressing features and benefits, and
value-added services, not just a low price. During the Construction
Documentation phase attention is focused on specification preparation,
generally when the specification writer requires the most comprehensive
technical assistance. Once the project awarded, Howard is equally
attentive to the contractor team: advising on product delivery times,
handling and installation requirements; attending pre-installation
meetings, and observing installation, intent on maintaining the
integrity of the specification.
In addition to Howard’s
project specific consultative activities, future projects are sought to
maintain the pipeline of ongoing opportunities and sales. Activities
include conducting American Institute of Architects (AIA) compliant
continuing education seminars; supporting and participating in programs
associated with the Construction Specification Institute (CSI) and other
professional design organizations; ongoing informational updates; and
article submission to design and building industry publications.
